Come roll back into the 1960s/1970s with me as I share my story and inspiration behind the 15 patterns inside my new book, Retro Curved Pieced Quilts. This collection of quilts has marked a monumental pivot in my career as a quilt pattern designer. I’m excited to share the stories behind how each design came to be and the laugh worthy moments behind the process.

I’d love to share my journey with you; from the 13 year old who wanted to be a fashion designer, to the young mom who found her place in the world among the quilting community.
I share my design processes and how I find inspiration to design quilt patterns. During my trunk show I will share over 20 quilts, their stories, and what about them makes them uniquely mine.

Finding Your Quilty Identity Lecture
This lecture dives into the discovery of who you are as an artist as quilter. I’ve met many wonderful quilters who feel like they don’t know what they “like.” They say things like they only make quilts from kits or feel like they have to use what fabric is currently popular. There’s nothing wrong with this approach if it brings you joy, but if you’re looking to grow this is the lecture for you. I break down the four different stages of a quilter. I then share my process for finding the color palette that represents you.

Wearable Art Lecture
People have been finding ways to turn art into fashion for generations. In this lecture we will discuss the evolution of wearable art. There will be a strong focus on how society has recycled quilts for fashion through the decades. During this lecture we will explore different methods of applying our artistic style to our own wardrobe as well.

Curves 101 Workshop
In this 4 hour workshop I will teach you three different methods for sewing the Drunkard’s Path block. It’s my goal to find the best method for each student. By the end of this workshop students will leave with the confidence to sew curves.
This class uses my Merry & Joy Quilt Pattern. Each student will be required to purchase a pattern for the class. A discount code will be provided when booking the class for the PDF version of the pattern. This class can be made into a 3 hour workshop if students pre-cut their fabric and we don’t discus cutting directional fabric.

More Curves Fun
During this 4 hour class we will cover 3 different methods for sewing curves so that each student can discover the method that works best for them. We will also be sewing a block that has a curve within the curve!
By the end of this class students should complete (1) flower block, which makes for a great pillow or wall hanging. The students will have the skills and confidence to then make the bird blocks to complete the quilt.
Student’s will need to precut their fabric before the class.
This class can also be (2) 4 hour classes to complete both a flower and a bird block.
This class uses my Apparrotly It’s A Party pattern. Each student will be required to purchase a pattern for the class. A discount code will be provided when booking the class for the PDF version of the pattern.

Chaos Coordinator Workshop
Join me on this curvy adventure to make the Chaos Coordinator Quilt. We will cover the cutting, piecing and squaring up of each of the 5 blocks in the pattern. By the end of the workshop you will make at least one of each block, or enough blocks to complete a pillow/wall hanging or baby sized top. You can then apply these skill to continue making more blocks to grow your quilt to one of the throw sizes if desired. This workshop uses my Chaos Coordinator Pattern. Each student will be required to purchase their own copy of the pattern. A discount code will be provided when booking the class for the PDF version of the pattern.

Big Stitch Quilting Workshop
Elevate your quilting to the next level by adding Big Stitch Hand quilting to your next project. Did you know that you can mix machine quilting and hand quilting? In this 3 hour workshop I will teach quilters the different types of threads that can be used. I will share my hoop free method of hand quilting to elevate a quilting design. We will discuss the different ways of marking or even not marking your quilt.

Radical Cassettes Workshop
Tackle your fears of piecing Drunkards Path blocks. We will learn two methods for piecing these blocks and covering how to square them up. By the end of the class each student should walk away with at least one cassette block finished. A finished block makes a great wall hanging or pillow.
You can then apply these skill to continue making more blocks to grow your quilt to the throw sizes if desired. This workshop uses my Radical Cassettes Pattern. Each student will be required to purchase their own copy of the pattern. A discount code will be provided when booking the class for the PDF version of the pattern.

Wearable Art Workshop
This workshop pairs beautifully with the Wearable Art Lecture. During this workshop we will be taking an item of Ready Wear Clothing and up-cycling it with quilting art and embellishments.
In this workshop we will cover:
Applying a finished quilt block to your clothing item.
Adding embroidery/big stitch quilting to your clothing item.
Adding elements of visible mending to your clothing.

Quilt Coat 101 Workshop
Making a quilt jacket is easier than you think, and even easier when you have an expert walking you through the process.
In this workshop you will:
- Walk you through the planning of your Quilt Jacket.
- How to take your proper body measurements.
- How to correctly print and assemble PDF quilt pattern pieces.
- How to grade your pattern pieces to be the perfect fit for YOU!
- How to cut out your pattern pieces.
- How to sew an armscye.
- How to sew a button hole.
- How to attach rivets and snaps.
Included in the workshop is a Planning Worksheet, and a Measurements Guide Worksheet. You will also receive the hood add-on drafted by Erin.

Beginner’s English Paper Piecing Workshop
In this 3 hour workshop we will dive into all the fun that’s English Paper Piecing! I will share some of the history behind EPP. During this class students will learn two different stitches and my favorite knot to use for EPP. We will discuss how to elevate your EPP with fussy cutting and all my EPP tricks along the way.

Master the HST Workshop
One of the most common blocks in quilting, the half square triangle, causes dread to so many quilters. However, it is one of my favorite blocks to make. During this 3 hour workshop I will teach you my tips and tricks to make creating HST easier, faster and less daunting. This workshop uses my Mirrored Pattern.
